Grommunio on proxmox with virtio driver.

Hi,

I'm running grommunio appliance on proxmox 7.4 on sata hd. I would like to migrate it to a scsi HD.

Not sure I have everything in pace to do it and how to do it. Qemu agent is installed.

I tried to create a secondary scsi HD in my vm. Clone my booting SATA hd to the new scsi hd. removed the sata hd from the vm. but system do not boot. It stuck at Grub prompt. I tried to repair with grub boot-repair-disk-64bit.iso tool. but no success

Is there an available procedure that shows us how to migrate from SATA to SCSI with virtio SCSI driver.
I saw some for debian, centos but not for Suse.

any help willl be appreciated.

bunker Hi, I haven't tested this but I think the process should be:-

Shutdown the VM
Clone the original machine - never work on your live machine until you know your process will work.
On the (shutdown) cloned machine
In Hardware, highlight the HDD and click the 'DETACH' button, to detach it from the VM.
Now with the HDD highlighted click the 'EDIT' button, and select the SCSI interface, and save your change.

Now the bit that you probably missed.

With the (clone) VM selected, select its Options settings.
Edit the 'BOOT' settings and make sure SCSI is ticked and then drag it to the top of the list (so set as item 1), and save settings.

Your VM should now boot from the Virtual disk, however, depending on the VM you may have to make changes internally to get it to boot properly (Windows might need you to boot safe mode to update its drivers etc)
