send as alias possible ?

Hi @all,
currently I am planning my migration to grommunio community edition.
I am really happy with the admin gui etc. and set up several SMTP Aliases for my main email address.
two things I'd like to know and I hope you can help me:

Is there a limit for SMTP aliases or can I create unlimited?
As soon as I try to send an email as an alias, the webmailer corrects my alias to my main address and sends the mail with it.
Is this a wanted behaviour or a bug?

I assume there is no limit for aliases except disk space.
you can't use aliases to send mails. This is a limitation.

Never mind - so the aliases will only be used for incomming mails :-)
