Tho if you do all these jobs it would likely be easier to just power down, backup, power up the system as that can't take much longer i suspect.
Which will take the longest if you don't change it in the whole process is the /etc/default/grub:GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
and sticking with wickedd for the interface configuration also takes it's toll on boot time. I switched to systemd.networkd on the opensuse machines and a grub_timeout=2 and the whole bootprocess with the emulated bios are around 15 seconds when i look on a couple of systemd with systemd-analyze

IIRC you could configure that in the vcenter to do a shutdown/snapshot->backup/boot or not? This i would then even call "consistent".
