Additional websites on grommunio server?

Hey everyone,

I installed grommunio via the ISO as application on my server. I have a question: Are there any valid good reasons, why I should not run some small wordpress pages on the same server like the grommunio application?

If you want troubles, run wordpress on your mail server. If you do not want troubles, do not run wordpress on the same server.

You're honestly running into much trouble.
Whenever you get changes into the nginx config pushed from Grommunio, your setup may stop working.

From a security point of view, this is disastrous.
Wordpress is the most attacked / hacked CMS in existence.
Putting it on the same server as your mails is playing with fire.

There are plenty of small server instances for less than a couple of €/$ for this kind of hosting.

Hmm... okay. Thanks @ozy and @WalterH . At this moment I have no problems with Kopano and Wordpress on the same server. And it looks like that there are no really hard reasons to avoid this. For sure, to have more security... It is better to have it on an own system. I will suggest this to the customer, but you know it: Sometimes they does not hear wat you say 😉

As already mentioned, I wouldn't do that when installing with the ISO. It would be better for your project to run the grommunio server as an LXC container on a Debian installation, for example. On the Debian host, for example, an Apache web server can then be a reverse proxy for the Nginx of the grommunio container on the one hand and a web server for the other Apache virtual hosts on the other. If you only want to have one physical machine, I don't see any reason not to do this.
