The problem stays the same since at least the end of 2025...
And I'm talking about supported too.
For that single reason, we have halted all our current efforts to migrate any more customers to grommunio as there seems to be no real solution since months, for a critical issue, that does not seem to get the necessary attention needed.
And yes, related ticket #814441 is still open since then as well.
The issue does NOT occur with gromox-2.48.8.389d2d8 (supported), but that's a rather old release.
But that shows, that it used to work and still does with most recent versions of Outlook 2021/2024.
The mentioned workarounds during this thread are all not feasible for us.

I assume, that the issue at hand, is closely related to the search issues in Outlook 2021/2024 in online mode.
When searching for mails, the returned list of hits is often incomplete, but changing sort order on the search result, reloads the list and shows all search hits correctly.
To me that sounds very related.
