Missing emails in Outlook for IOS after migration on Custom Folders

Hello, I'm not an expert in Grommunio yet, but I'm learning everyday...

We migrated emails from cPanel to Grommunio using the IMAP to IMAP method recommended by grommunion on

We did our final validation checks, all emails are working as expected when looking them from Grommunio Web or Outlook for PC, and the previous emails are in their corresponding folders, we even have emails on custom folders from the previous email system

However, when we tested logging into the email address on Outlook for IOS, we noticed that only the emails on the default folders are there (I'm referring to Sent, Inbox, Archive, Deleted and so on), but the emails on the custom folders are missing. Which is odd because on the Outlook for PC this issue doesn't happen

I attempted to repair the mailboxes using the commands
gromox-mbop cgkreset-u <MAILADRESS> & a script that I found: g_mbck.sh, but the script returns that I don't have any issues and the gromox-mbop didn't work.

Appreciate any assistance on this

WalterH The version we're using is gromox-3.1.31.333d1fa-lp156.6.1

This version is quite old. Update to 3.2.2.

WalterH Perfect, thanks, but now I do have a set of questions, and was hoping you could help me

My upgrade plan is to update the platform every 2-3 months UNLESS there's something critical. What do you recommend should be the upgrade plan to maintain a balance between bug fixes, performance and stability. What I'm worry is that we need to necessary update everything once a new version comes out, as it won't give enough time for testing

And that bring me to my next question, if I upgrade to version 3.2.2, I need to upgrade the rest of the components, or is there a way to only upgrade the gromox component?

Hi @WalterH . Just to let you know that we upgraded Gromox and all the components to the latest version and we’re still observing the behavior where emails on custom folders aren’t loading, but additionally, we noticed that an email from Grommunio News on a custom folder loads and appear just fine.

It’s like that specific email is different from the rest of emails, this behavior only happens on the mobile versions of Outlook, the PC/Computer isn’t dealing with this problem

Any other ideas or areas that I can look at?

chernandez I had this same issue after migrating users from IMAP to MS 365 or Grommunio
PR_CONTAINER_CLASS property of each folder have to be changed from IPF.Imap value into IPF.Note

Unfortunately, I followed both the steps and all the affected folders have IPF.Note

The main problem is within Outlook Mobile (Either Android or IOS) where emails on sub folders aren't syncing

Yeah, we suspect that's the problem, I dedicated a few more hours into this and this is what we discover

1) Emails are observable in PC no matter the folder they are, we could be either on Inbox or a custom folder and they're still visible
2) The problem seems to be entirely on Mobile devices, we tested Grommunio Web, and Outlook for PC and the issue is not reproducible. Emails are visible
3) We attempted to move emails that we recently got into Custom folders and THEY ARE visible on Mobile devices, it looks like a specific set of emails are the ones failing

That's why we believe the problem could be related to the IMAP flags (or overall flags in general) causing the problem

It would be appreciate it if there's anything else we can do on our side, upgrading Gromox to the latest version and following bcnet didn't helped on solving the problem, but now we understand it a bit more

I had a similar problem a long time ago, where you had to delete IMAP flags in Outlook (classic), as far as I can remember. But I can't find the documentation for it.
