Outlook cannot login, webmail works

Hallo, we have one LDAP-Account which troubles us. The LDAP Passwort was changed two days ago. Windows Login and Webmail login works with the new password. However Outlook is asking for the passwort since yesterday. Typing the new passwort does not work same when tying the old passwort.
In the journal I get the following errors

We have synced the LDAP directory with gromox several times. Reset the passwort in the LDAP, synced and also no chance..
Intersting is, that the webmail works with the passwort. What can I further check?

The password is never synced, grommunio verifies the password online.
Do you have special characters like German Umlaute in the password? These make some troubles.

what outlook version are u using outlook "classic" or outlook "new" ?

WalterH I understand the verification process. However I don't understand why Outlook is having a problem and webmail has no problem.
In between we figured out which symobl is the problem: §
Without that symbol the password verification is working and outlook works again

Thanks for help, maybe this should be documented somewhere. Especially which symbols create problems so I can change the password policy of the LDAP

The developers works on a software change to allow special characters in password. ETA is currently unknown.
