Dear community
First of all, a big compliment to the Grommunio support team: our requests have always been handled very quickly, competently and helpfully. Thank you very much for that.
Over the last few days, while troubleshooting a production Outlook/Gromox issue, we repeatedly came across topics where community posts – especially from @WalterH – were extremely helpful and practical. Many thanks for that as well.
However, this also gave us the impression that many production-relevant optimizations, known pitfalls and recommended tuning parameters currently have to be discovered mainly through community posts, trial and error, external research or AI-assisted troubleshooting.
As a productive hosting/MSP partner, we would love to see even more official documentation and partner communication in the future, for example:
- more detailed changelogs
- known issues for new releases
- information about required configuration changes
- recommendations for production environments
- documented tuning guides
- sensible default values
- and clearly documented best practices for nginx, EMSMDB, HTTP workers, context limits, etc.
We would also highly appreciate more official guidance regarding branding and customization. Some adjustments currently require manual modifications that have to be re-applied after updates. Update-safe and officially documented customization mechanisms would be extremely valuable for hosting partners and productive environments.
Even though our environment is still relatively small (around 50 mailboxes), we already encountered several topics where more official guidance and documented best practices would have been extremely valuable.
Please take this purely as constructive and well-intentioned feedback from a productive partner environment.
What do other productive partners and administrators think about this topic?
