Following the release of the new appliance iso yesterday for 2026.06.01, I built a new server (Proxmox VM), installing just Core and Files options. All went very well and after data migration from my previous VM all seemed to be working normally. Had. couple of issue getting Files working, b ut this was fixed by sorting out the required setting from old to new server. This is now working OK.
Today being the 1st of the month I set about taking my monthly pst backups (historical reasons) to my NAS for the couple of mailboxes migrated to this new build server. I opened Outlook 2016 and created a new profile which autodiscover worked very quickly for the first mailbox so things were looking up. However, when trying to open the new Outlook profile I keep getting the following error:-
Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file ******.ost is not an Outlook data file (.ost).
I have applied all updates available updates available through the server to 15:30 UK time today, so running Gromox 3.8.9.
I have an upgraded server OS 15.6 to OS 16.0, with the 2026.06.01 updates also applied and to the same patch level. The same instance of Outlook 2016 connects to that server without issues. The new server buiold was to get rid of the detritus that has built up over the lifetime of the previous server.
Its as if the MAPI profile option is disabled. I can open an old OST file for the old server and access it, but obviously it does not connect, I can open mail profiles to another Grommunio server (not upgraded to 2026.06.01 yet) and this works fine.
Anyone else tried this on a newly built appliance yet?
