Hi everyone,

In the current grommunio version, there is a critical bug regarding email rules in the web interface: Only the very last email rule is displayed.

The existing rules are still functioning correctly in the background and are present in the exchange.sqlite3 database.

Important: No rules should be added or removed in the web interface until the bug is fixed!
If a user tries to add or delete a rule on the web, it overwrites the database and permanently deletes all hidden rules. (Outlook is unaffected and still shows everything correctly).

I opened a ticket and support has already confirmed the bug.

Just installed the noted update for Grommunio-web. Initially after update there was no change in the web-gui under settings/rules. Still only had one rule showing. Rebooted server and checked again. Still only one rule showing, and now unable to switch back to Mail screen. Rebooted again now have all active rules back, and mail client working - but still doesn't feel fully stable. This needs more testing my end to see if it has settled down now.

Note: All through above testing rules have persisted in Outlook 2016 client.

FURTHER UPDATE
After some further tests, I cannot see inactive rules that appear in Outlook 2016 in the web-gui. Enabling an inactive rule in Outlook makes the rule appear in the web-gui, subsequent disabling the rule in Outlook makes the rule disappear in the web-gui.

I haven't checked this for a while but I recall the disabled rules did, at least sometime ago, appear in the web-gui in the past. It appears that rules created in web-gui can be enabled/disabled and the rule persists both in the web-gui and Outlook (shows as client side rule in Outlook), but Outlook created ones do not.

It would be good if the disabled rules (Outlook created) appeared in the web-gui.

WalterH Issues as mentioned above happening with gromox-3.10.54 (installed 29/8/26).

Further update - if I copy a rule in Outlook and set it as active it appears in web-GUI. I can then disable it in web-gui and it will remain there even if I logout/in. The active/disabled flag correctly transfers to Outlook, and the rule can be made active/disabled repeatedly in web-gui, however, as soon as the rule is disabled in Outlook it disappears from the web-gui list of rules and, as mentioned before, if I then enable the rule again in Outlook it reappears in web-gui.

EDIT: Just installed today's (01/09/26) update grommunio-web 3.19.238 and no change in the above behaviour.

If you have changed something before updating to the recent version, the rules will be gone. 🙁
