Iphone and Android auth issue on Debian after update

Hi,

I have updated my Debian system to the latest community version. Are there any known issues with the
grommunio-sync_1.1.66-0_all package?
I could not sync my Iphone or Android after that. After a complete removal on the phone and on grommunio, the authentification failed. I need to roll back. There were no errors in the logs.

Hmm, I'm using the same version and everything works just fine. Have you had a look at the grommunio-sync.log file?

Yes, the strange thing is that there was nothing shown at all after the update. No success, no error. No new entry.
Maybe a service did not run? I don`t know if that was the case as I did not find any suspicious log entries from grommunio or debian. I just wonder if I am the only one, than it may be somehow related to my system (created with the debian script from this forum)

That's strange indeed. The log is quite "debug-like" for me, so too much info than to less... Is the php7.4-fpm service running and showing a grommunio-sync thread?

Thanks for the idea. To test that I would need to install the update again. As I only have a live system, this would lead to a broken system.
I will try this, but I will wait for the next update.

You can check the Authentication by just opening https://your.grommunio.host/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync which will ask you to put in your User and Password. It will show you a warning because the GET /-Request isn't supported. But at least you know if it's working on the Server-Side.

I started the update again today. I have made a stupid mistake right in the beginning, thanks to nala.

Nala:

When I just install the unblocked updates all works fine.
But the sync package update was missing.
Then I manually (!) enforce just the update for system-user-grovdav and system-user-grosync and the problem starts.
Nala did not show the other blocked packages. Maybe it works different here, I just started to understand the idea behind nala.
So I did it correct with apt dist-upgrade this time and it works a bit better. But still I have the two packages hold back.

I assume nala just did the dist-upgrade and ends in the two packages that are now also hold back.
So now the sync still works, but I assume that when I again enforce the update it will cause the same error.
Any ideas?

I just did it. And the https://your.grommunio.host/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync shows bad gateway.
I think I have an idea what is going on. I will try to fix this now and update this post later.

Did you check if the fpm pool grommunio-sync... works?

And the actual LOG ( TEXT ) would be more helpful..

How did you even install nala? This seems not to be in Bullseye/Stable.

crpb Please forget about nala. I do it with apt at the moment.
The php7.4-fpm service is running. I now check this fpm log and found this.

What confuses me also, can someone explain the difference between grommunio-sync and system-user-grosync?
It all works great with the later one, but I can not install both.

You don't need the Package "system-user-grosync" anymore as it seems.

Sorry, I struggle a bit to understand your latest post.

But it also reminds me on something.
Maybe it is somehow related to the php-mapi package? I needed to manually compile it a while ago as it was not installed correctly via the debian install script from this forum. Just a thought.
