mwilliams Guess I should have read the entire post. I mistakenly read a part of it, and also remembered from looking a few weeks ago that there were posts that were saying nginx didn't support RPC(IN/OUT). All this would eventually be not needed if we did decide to move to grommunio in lieu of Exchange.
As I posted elsewhere, we are not using this for a business. Rather, a family community where we have five homes all connected, and are selfhosting everything to move away from using google/apple/microsoft. Essentially, we have built our own cloud for our needs and the bane of my existence is maintaining four Windows Server VMs (2 as AD Domain Cntrollers, and 2 for Exchange, a pair each running on different ESXi servers). As a family, our cloud consists of an ESXi cluster running all of our homes needs, including email, storage, calendars, chat, media, cord cutting, home automation, security, etc. Everything is hosted in a shared addition to our homes. FIve families live on a cul-de-sac and we are all connected via fiber runs to each house. We also, for backup, actually have a TrueNAS server in datacenter and our home storage is backed up there.
The need for a reverse proxy could be elimanated by two different ways, hosting grommunio on our server at the datacenter, or moving the grommunio vm outside of our firewall. But ultimately, would rather not.
I'll check out everything in the morning. It's 11:30PM here, and work comes early.
