ActiveSync fails

Hi all,

I recently installed grommunio using the Debian-12 packages and migrated the data from my old kopano installation. When I try to sync my Android phone, I get following messages in /var/log/grommunio-sync/grommunio-sync.log

I could not find anything helpful with the WARN message above.
The issue also happens with the appliance.
The issue happens both with Nine sync (Android groupware client) and when I add a Gmail Exchange account.
The result is always that I do not see any emails, contacts or calendar entries on my phone.

I already lost a lot of hair over this and really don't have a lot to spare. Please help me to avoid premature baldness. :-)

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Did you also setup redis accordingly? Is the service running?

yes, redis is running and listening on 127.0.0.1:6379

I tried it with a fresh grommunio appliance installation and guess what: sync works fine.
On my other grommunio appliance virtual machine it doesn't.
The only difference is that I imported 30GB of data from my previous kopano installation.
Apparently there is an issue in the database that was introduced by gromox-kdb2mt/gromox-mt2exm.
So, I would like to call this a bug now.
Any suggestions how to find the root cause of this?

I spent most of my weekend trying to troubleshoot this but failed. :-(

One observation is that the folder-id that is listed in the error message (0x80004005) does not exist (at least grommunio-admin exmdb xxx@yyy.at folder list -r does not show it). I tried to debug the php code in /usr/share/grommunio-sync but got lost somewhere in the depth of /usr/share/grommunio-dav.

When I googled the error message, I stumbled over this:

That's an old issue in kopano with activesync that was never fixed. The issue only happened when you had a lot of elements in your folders (I do). Somebody in that post could fix the issue by switching to mysql, but that wouldn't make sense with grommunio because the folders are stored in sqlite and not in mysql/mariadb. Still, it seems the error somehow made it over to grommunio. I didn't have that issue with kopano, though.
