Hallo zusammen, und zunächst mal: Vielen Dank für dieses Produkt! Es funktioniert schon sehr viel, auch wenn es natürlich noch Ecken und Kanten und Löcher gibt, gerade wenn man aus der Klickibunti-Welt kommt.
Ich betreibe als Hobby-Projekt (E-Mail für mich und die Familie) einen in die Jahre gekommenen Exchange-Server mit einer ebenso in die Jahre gekommenen MSDNAA-Lizenz und suche dafür nun Ersatz.
Ich habe schon eine Grommunio-Instanz mit der aktuellen Appliance aufgesetzt und das sieht auch soweit schon alles gut aus. Wie wir die Migration machen weiß ich noch nicht, vermutlich einfach in Outlook zwei Konten anlegen und solange alles rüberschieben bis der Exchange leer ist.
Nun zum Anliegen: In Exchange habe ich eine DAG mit zwei Knoten. Das ist sehr komfortabel, man hat zwei MXe (mit jeweils einem Postfix davor), Lastverteilung/Ausfallsicherheit (mit jeweils einem HAProxy davor) und wenn ein Knoten mal weg ist (Bluescreen, Updates, Reboot, Dienst nicht hochgekommen) hat der andere 1:1 alle Daten und die Anwender kommen weiter an ihre Mails, auch wenn ich gerade am Strand liege. Und wenn er wieder hochkommt, repliziert die DAG selbstständig alle Inhalte zurück.
Diesen sorgenfreien Zustand hätte ich auch weiterhin gerne. Ich habe die Grommunio-VM schon in einem Failover-Cluster, so dass wenn ein physischer Server ausfällt die VM weiterläuft, aber wenn sich innerhalb der VM irgendwas verklemmen sollte, ist das Licht aus, und dann kann ich mit meinen ausbaufähigen Linux-Kenntnissen erstmal googeln gehen, während meine Frau hinter mir steht und sich beschwert, dass sie DRINGEND auf eine Mail wartet 🙂
Wenn ich zwei Grommunio-VMs hätte, könnte ich das Mailbox-Verzeichnis vermutlich auf das Cluster Shared Volume legen und gesondert mounten, da würde sich dann der Cluster schon um die Replikation kümmern. Wie ist das mit den Metadaten? Reicht es, die Datenbank zu replizieren? Gibt es irgendwo eine Anleitung, was genau der "Servers"-Bereich in der Administration tut? Im Forum habe ich leider nicht viel gefunden. Dafür Support einzukaufen sprengt vermutlich das Budget, wie gesagt, ist ein Hobby - viel Zeit wenig Geld 😉
Vielleicht hat ja jemand einen Tipp in die richtige Richtung. Ich schreibe dann auch gerne eine Anleitung für die Nachwelt.
