Release planned for Q3 2025

Hi everybody,

according to the roadmap, a release was planned for the last week of Q3, 2025:

This date has passed by more than a week now, but the roadmap has not been updated and there were no announcements about delays or updates to the roadmap.

We have several Exchange-to-Grommunio migrations in our queue and postponed them to set them up on the new release rather than upgrading shortly after the migration. Is it worth waiting for a few more days? Any update is much appreciated.

Bug fixes for the Supported Edition should actually be released at the end of every month. However, there was no release last month; the last bug fix release with several fixes was on August 8, 2025, i.e., two months ago. The developers are behind schedule. To be clear, on September 12, 2025, there was a minor update with only one fix, but it only affected customers with very large installations.

Indeed, bug fix releases are more frequent. But for the last week of Q3 2025, a point release with specific new functionality like OAuth 2.0 was announced. Has a new date for this release been set already?

Q4 it is, slight delay.

I've talked with Grommunio support team last week, they said they're having a "big" supported release planned, where Q/A still needs some time to iron stuff out.
I honestly prefer having schedules not met than non party ready software released.

That's good news, thanks for the update.

Yes, I completely agree. I'd just like to encourage the team to be a little more communicative about that, at least to us partner companies.

1of16 If you look at the gromox github repo, you'll see that there's no AI garbage, but jengelh coding lots and lots of stuff for gromox to get closer to exchange's mystic MAPI protocol implementation.

I prefer to stick to the deadlines and possibly release only part of the product, delivering the unfinished parts with next month's release. A release cycle must remain predictable for customers.

WalterH I would agree, if there weren't the Q/A part, which AFAIK discovered some things that need more polishing, delaying the release.

RFC 2184/2231: Enhanced handling of extended parameters in MIME headers.
Trashed Mailboxes & Migration: Improvements for advanced mailbox handling across multiple migrations, including x400 addressing and undocumented MAPI attributes.
Extended distribution support with EL10 and Debian 13.
grommunio-files: Updated version with group folder management, modern authentication.
Modern Authentication (OAuth2) for Outlook, IMAP, and POP3.
Full HTML-based MR (Meeting Request) Processing in the Web UI.
Following the next point release in Q4/2025 the following features are in the upcoming release funnel (in QA and/or deployed already in pilot-installations):
A complete rewrite of grommunio-Desktop for Windows, MacOS and Linux.
Modern Authentication (OAuth2) for IMAP (XOAUTH2).
AI-Powered Features for enhanced user productivity.
Extended rules & autoprocessing support.

It would be nice if all components worked properly. Jitsi Meet hasn't been working for months... :-(
At least on the paid version; I don't know about the community version, but something like this simply shouldn't happen.
