Outlook crashes when trying to set OOO (out of office)

When users try to set OOO message via Outlook (2024), it crashes/closes in the second we click on OK.
It's happening for users who never set a OOO before.

I looked in /var/lib/gromox/user/domain.de/username/config
and saw no autoreply.cfg and no external/internal-reply files.

It works when I set the OOO via admin ui.
These files and permissions are created:

-rw-rw---- 1 grommunio gromox   61 May 22 13:16 external-reply
-rw-rw---- 1 grommunio gromox   61 May 22 13:16 internal-reply

but when the user tries to change anything in the OOO via Outlook, it still crashes.

Then we logged in to G-Web with the user account and saved the OOO there.
After that, file permissions are different:

-rw-rw---- 1 grommunio gromox  105 May 22 13:22 autoreply.cfg
-rw-rw-r-- 1 gromox    gromox 2124 May 22 13:22 external-reply
-rw-rw-r-- 1 gromox    gromox 2124 May 22 13:22 internal-reply

and now the user can also change the OOO in Outlook perfectly without a problem.

Could this be a permission issue (no o+r before)?

just had this problem on a 2nd installation:

gromox 3.7.256 (supported) on opensuse leap16.0 (upgraded appliance).
first use of autoreply for this user -> outlook crashes.
setting with G-Web works.

no one else with this issue?

I can reproduce it by deleting any config/*reply*.
Even creating (touch /var/lib/gromox/user/*/*/config/{autoreply.cfg,{ex,in}ternal-reply} + chown/chmod ) doesn't help.
Only after i went to the admin interface and set a oof Outlook wasn't crashing anymore when trying to set something.

What works tho is when you already had those files in place, outlook is running and basically loaded them, then removing the files in the config directory and then saving the oof in outlook and the files are created.

So i don't think this is a file permission problem but whatever outlook sends as a request to gromox and maybe whatever is returned in the reply is somethign outlook can't handle? (totaly guessing here!!!). At least when it doesn't have anything as a start.

I didn't go any deeper by increasing the loglevels or whatnot but now you know you are not alone.
