  • Outlook Sync from Grommunio Server to outlkook hat Probleme

Hallo,
ich habe wie schon beschrieben die gleichen Fehler wie member1
ich habe es mit Outlook 2019 enlisch und deutsch versucht
und auch mit outlook 2021
auf Windows 10 und windows 11

Jetzt zum Test folgende Vorgehensweise:

alle Files in
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
wurden gelöscht.

Sämtliche logfiles in
/var/log/nginx
sind gelöscht.

journalctl -f
gestartet

Dann Outlook gestartet.
Danach im Grommunio Web Interface
einen neuen Termin eingegeben.
Kein Fehler bei
journalctl -f
/var/log/nginx
bleibt leer.

    Outlook gestartet
    Im Webinterface einen neuen Termin erzeugt.
    Keine Synchronisationsfehler.
    Der Termin wird in Outlook sichtbar.

    Im Webinterface Update durchgeführt.
    Outlook läuft.
    Termin im Webinterface generiert.
    Jetzt gib es Synchronisierfehler

    Termin erscheint nicht in outlook.

    Das wollte ich wissen, dann hat es was mit einem Update.

      Das Problem besteht bei uns ebenfalls. Das neuste Update hat auch keine Verbesserung gebracht.

      WalterH Walter I also agree that the issue is with an update. Over last week been trying to resolve an issue where the Sent Items Folder in Outlook Cache mode is missing all but the most recent sent emails (if any at all), showing just a few recent ones.

      I regularly export (archive) my user mailboxes to PST files via Outlook (for historical reasons). By going back over my PST file archives I have found that all was working as normal prior to 4th December 2024. Since then each PST backup shows the exports have been getting smaller - not bigger as one would normally expect if the users do not tidy up their mailboxes (most don't).

      From my subsequent testing, I believe this issue is something that the Grommunio Web client is doing when storing the emails into the database. I suspect it is setting a field or flag incorrectly causing Outlook cache mode processing to fail when. it sees in the mail store.

      As part of my migration to the new Appliance ISO (01-01-25) I have recently had to rebuild all my users mailboxes (fortunately not many of them) from PST files generated from fresh IMAP Outlook profiles and the aforementioned PST archives. This has allowed me to recover all of the missing data as all the mailboxes had some level of missing items in their Outlook caches possibly caused by this issue. The restored PST's have now been migrated into new VM's and new Outlook profiles. At this point all the rebuilt mailboxes worked normally without error when viewed in Outlook with cache mode enabled.

      I then sent 1 email to myself from my mailbox via the Web Client. My Outlook sync was immediately broken and no entries now showing in my sent items folder. I turned off cache mode and all messages were now present again, so I deleted the email I had sent via the Web client and re-enabled cache mode. Now my original sent items folder is fully populated again, but my deleted Items folder is now empty. Repeating the process but on the deleted items folder allows full population of the folder once back in cache mode. So the issue is clearly related to how the email is being created, stored or modified by the Web Client, possibly with a setting or flag that is preventing Outlook cache Mode from processing correctly. The fact that the problem is reversible confirms (to me at least) the issue is related to a setting/flag in the affected mailbox object when it is being processed by the Web client.

      I only take PST backups of my users mailboxes every few weeks, so I can only say that this sync issue was not present in my Grommunio server VM instances up to and including the 3rd December 2024. After that date something went wrong in an update that I did not see until other users started reporting various Outlook Cache mode sync issues. I update my Grommunio instances via the GUI Updater, either daily or bi-daily with the latest available updates.

      For the time being I am avoiding using the Web Client for sending or. modifying any mailbox items.
